Toddlers to Pre-schoolers:
We are the only Nursery in Llandrindod Wells offering Early Years Foundation Phase. Children can access up to 10 part-funded free childcare (max 2 hours per day). The Foundation Phase staff support all aspects of a child's development:
Personal and Social ,Well Being and Cultural Development ,Language, Literacy and Communication Skills ,Physical Development, Mathematical Development, Creative Development, Knowledge and Understanding in the World, Welsh Language Development.
The children are surrounded by welsh throughout the day and every day welsh sessions are given to the children.
Children learn best by doing and encouraging to choose activities, make decisions as they engage with the different opportunities on offer. Each term the Early years area changes theme and all activities are based around that, the children are encouraged to play where they want to, what materials and equipment they wish to use.
The children are observed while 'playing' and staff use these observations to plan the next areas of development for the individual child and the group.Monitoring the children carefully helps plan suitable activities to stimulate learning and development.
Staff participate, role model, offer choices and encourage children to try out new skills and ensure children are able to play outside as often as possible.
This gives our children a headstart when they attend school for the first time.
